How Our Service Works
Broadband is distributed using land-based, wireless point-to-point and point-to-multipoint systems. Bandwidth is broadcast from one of our main access points to your location via a receiver antenna, which is typically installed on the roof of your business or residence. We use carrier-class wireless equipment to provide a very stable, reliable, low latency (<100ms) Internet connection that supports all applications, including VoIP telephone, live video streaming, and gaming. Weather has very little impact on our service, unlike satellite Internet which can be highly affected by weather. We provide guaranteed, synchronous (equal upload and download) broadband speeds that burst up to four times the subscription speed. Our standard subscription speeds range from 256 Kbps (burst up to 1 Mbps) to 3 Mbps (burst up to 9 Mbps), and custom speeds are essentially unlimited. We guarantee 99.9% up time and provide an exceptional level of technical support to ensure this reliability.
Getting Installed
We assess your location for line of sight to one of our towers from our office. If it is questionable we do a physical line of sight test for no charge. Then we schedule an installation appointment. All of our technicians are LAT employees, friendly, and very conscientious. They first test the line of sight and measure the signal strength. Then they install a standard dish antenna positioned to receive the best signal possible. An Ethernet cable is run from the antenna to your computer or router. The installation typically takes 1-2 hours. When finished, you are up and running with a high speed connection to the Internet.
